Abundance 2009 Abundantly Rich Red Blend
Lots of assorted red fruit notes. I found the strawberries to be particularly “abundant.” I know, that was too easy huh? Secondary oak acts as a backdrop. This Carignane, Zin & PS blend is quite the combo. Like three Great Danes that thing they are lap dogs. Big aromas. I anticipated a huge kick to the palate but I found the structure bold and well kept. The acidity was managed and carried like an typical Italian red. Interesting. Big wine likes big food. By the way, big wine with a small price point. Just saying.

Winemaker Notes: “Our Abundantly Rich Red is a beautiful blend of Carignane and Old Vine Zinfandel. The dense, dark raspberry color of this versatile wine opens up to a nose flooded with strawberries, a little plum and a hint of evergreen. Plums, strawberries, and oak, are richly layered and nicely balanced with a soft, long fruit and oak finish. This soft and rich blend is fruity enough for sipping as an aperitif, yet bold enough to accompany cheeses, pasta and many red meats. This is a really enjoyable, flavorful red wine for many occasions.“
