Borjón 2011 Sangiovese Reposado

Jumbled fruit, black licorice and eucalyptus. It’s a good nose. On the palate, the bright fruit starts to give way to an earthy palate. Smooth and dusty. The finish splashes and flashes some acidity. The nose doesn’t match the palate. That’s always intriguing. Nice structure and it finishes well. I’m not a big Sangio drinker but this one is solid.

Winemaker Notes: “This version of our Sangiovese screams bright red fruit & black licorice on the nose.  Look closely and you’ll find subtle hints of cut hay & dried herbs under the fruit.  Typical of this varietal, its soft upon entry then the natural acidity highlights the succulent flavors of dark cherries that dominate the palate.  This is an excellent food wine due to the low natural tannins & high acid.  Drink Now.
