Blackberries and other fun fruit.  You’ll have to dig to find the mint but its a nice reward for getting your nose wet.  The tannin structure is solid but not overpowering.  Spices on the rear palate were unexpected but a welcomed nuance.  Nicely done.

Winemaker Notes: “Combine Lodi’s famous old vines with a very cool growing season and you’ve got the makings of an extremely accessible Zin without the burning alcohol or puckering acid. It’s all about cherries this vintage: from black cherry, plum and bacon aromas, to flavors conjuring an absolutely decadent rich sauce of cherries jubilee accompanied by cola, violets and plum, wrapped with easy-drinking cinnamon-like tannins on the full-bodied finish. A wine that would be equally at home with some savory Chinese spareribs or a slice of flourless chocolate cake.”
