Lucas Winery 2011 CTZV Zinfandel

American Oak and plum will come find you.  You won’t have to look.  The American Oak highlights the big, sweet fruit structure.  Sweet fig and black licorice.  Expect a subtle introduction that livens up mid to rear palate.  I’m really digging the structure.  I usually don’t go for fig driven Zins but I think I’m enjoying this one because it’s not over done.  Nice finish too.

Winemaker Notes: “Black cherry and blackberry are combined, after decanting, with a touch of clove, allspice and a whisper of smoke as a result of spending one full year in French Oak within our Grand Chai.”
