Outpost 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

2011.outpostcabOutpost 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

Brambleberry, cherry and sage. Secondary nose gets herbal in a hurry. Fairly soft tannin structure but they spread out quickly. Finishes tart and takes its time and is in no hurry to go anywhere. Well done.

Showing bottle shots is one thing but I couldn’t resist showing how amazing it is to taste at Outpost Winery up on Howell Mountain. Unreal.

Winemaker Notes: “Each year we selectively choose the best lots from the estate to comprise the Outpost Cabernet Sauvignon. Sitting at 2,200 feet above sea level this vineyard rises above the fog delivering warm weather and sunny blue skies. The 2011 Outpost Cabernet is a graceful example of mountain tannins with a rich creamy mid palate. A balanced wine with notes of blue and black fruit, crushed rock, licorice and spice.” • 700 Cases
