Tablas Creek 2011 Côtes de Tablas

A Rhone blend with great high, sweet strawberries and a healthy does of blended berries. A very pleasant nose. The mid-palate will offer a delightfully neat tannin structure. Its desirable and easy going. So mellow. A tart and crisp finish. This is a great call for a newbie looking to expand their red wine repertoire. I can’t believe I got this out so late because I really enjoyed it. It slipped through the cracks but it was too good not to write about.

Winemaker Notes: “The 2011 Côtes de Tablas shows a deep, powerful nose of soy, licorice and black cherry, with an appealing sweet spice note emerging with air. The mouth is rich with plum, cherry, leather, balsamic and crushed rock balanced by fresh acidity and characteristic chalky Grenache tannins on the lingering, spicy finish. Hold for six months, then drink for the next decade or more.”
