Thirty-Seven 2013 Pinot Noir

2013.37.pinotThirty-Seven 2013 Pinot Noir

Not a big nose. Mature red cherry delicately wafts from the glass. A dense body for a Pinot. My nose would have thought otherwise. Despite the texture, its a mellow palate.  It just lays there like a lazy Sunday. After it wakes, it gets tangy as chocolate tones and some sprinkled acidity arrives. The buzz grows as does the complexity of the fruit all the way through the rear palate. The finish was average but I felt the overall adventure was nicely layered. Atypical. An easy drinker for the groomed palate, especially on a cool holiday evening.

(K&S Rating: 4 of 6)

Winemaker Notes: “Dark garnet. Deep aromatics of dark cherries, chocolate-covered strawberries and ripe cranberries. Sensuous and well-structure mid-palate with black tea, molasses and underbrush accents. Focused finish with highlights of cardamom, thyme, and blackberries.”
