Van Ruiten 2012 Chardonnay
This is a light Chard and even though it isn’t completely fermented in oak, the oak notes are present. Subtle… but present. The winemaker said he loved the honey and vanilla but I I only got honey. Heavy finish on the tongue but nice with a meal.

Winemaker Notes: Aromas of sweet pineapple, peach and apricot blend together with barrel aromas of fig, honey and vanilla finishing with hints of white peach. Our “Chard” was hand picked and gently squeezed to allow the natural fruit character to shine through. Half of this Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel and the other half was barrel fermented in small French oak barrels. They are then blended together to enhance the complexity of body, flavor and aroma.
