Simply Summer Celebration
I was lucky enough to be invited to a fantastic event this past weekend. The first annual Simply Summer Celebration put on by Zinfandel Advocates & Producers at Ridge Vineyards‘ Lytton West Vineyard near Healdsburg. What do you do when you are standing in front of 40+ amazing Zin makers sharing their juice on a beautiful summer afternoon…. Oh! I know. Get me a glass!
Winemakers from all over the state featured and shared their Zinfandel ranging from blends to serious OVZs from some of the oldest vines in the country. If nothing else, what a fantastic experience to focus on a varietal that is rarely the “belle of the ball.” The biggest problem I had was not having enough time to visit so many winemakers that are so passionate about their craft.
