Owen Roe 2009 Rosa Mystica Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc is rarely seen on its own which to me is a travesty. It is one of my favorite grapes. Owen Roe however is letting this usual “back-up singer” step into the lime light. Unfortunately, they didn’t make much so its a bit hard to find.
She’s a great drinker. A hint of blue berry and spice in the nose. Repeats on the palate. Definitely not trying to be complex. Simplicity and balance are the name of this game. Smooth finish for sure. That was well done.

Winemaker Notes: “Representing the warm 2009 vintage, this deep ruby colored Cabernet Franc brings out some of the best flavors from some of our favorite Yakima Valley vineyards. The 2009 Rosa Mystica has lovely aromas of sweet chocolate and cherry liqueur, violet and forest floor. The immediate mouth feel is full and rich with spicy flavors of coffee, pepper and tobacco. Enjoy this full bodied Cabernet Franc for many years to come!”
