Premonition Cellars 2012 Pinot Noir
A big bold smelling Pinot from Sonoma. The bold cherry notes jumped out of the bell of my glass. It’s young and a bit unabashed. Secondary cola notes give it some high spice. My wife dug in and said, “Wow… big tobacco!” I didn’t get that. Then I swirled it like it was on a roller coaster and out the tobacco notes came. They are on the edges and under the fruit. Nice nose structure.
Bang! That’s how it hits your palate. The acid structure is pointed and edgy. Not for the tame nor the rookie palate. Built for speed. Solid body gives it some depth in the mouth. The clean tannins are filled with tart cherry. Finishes slightly dusty but clean and dry. A perfect canvas to pour another glass!
