Cooper Vineyards

"Since 1979, the Cooper family’s mission has been to produce the highest quality fruit and present it to you in exquisite single varietal wines. Beginning with Barbera, family patriarch Dick Cooper has carefully tended rolling vineyards that now boast seventeen varietals, producing over twenty unique wines."

“I chose Cooper like I do on so many trips. I throw a dart at my map and pull up. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the tasting room was everyone was embroiled in conversations. Not wine talk but folks were all just chatting. One of the magical properties of wine is that it stimulates and encourages talk and this was a perfect example. The other thing I noticed is locals dropping in and being greeted by first name. This happened 3-5 times during my short visit. This is a friendly place to have a glass of wine and chat about the passing of the clouds. The quality of being nice never ceases to surprise me in the Amador region.”
