M2 2011 Trio Blend

Interesting blend.  This is a Lodi wine, but the grapes are from the Sierra Foothills and they are from two different vineyards at two different elevations.  50% Cab, 45% Syrah and 5% Petite Sirah.  Definitely smells like a “tame” cab but looks like a Petite Sirah. Great ruby colors and deep blue highlights.

I got raspberry notes but the rest sings in a chorus.  Once it hits your palate, it runs across your tongue in a hurry.  Not sliding to finish but an interesting move across and around your tongue.  And it moves quickly.  The light tannin structure keeps you on your toes and the well blended structure keeps you guessing.  Plan on finishing with a blueberry wrapped tongue.

Retail: $22.00

Winemaker Notes: “Two high altitude vineyards in the Sierra Foothills are the sources of our proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah.”
