Hirsch

"Perched on a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Fort Ross, Hirsch Vineyards is the birth ground of great pinot noir on the extreme Sonoma Coast. David Hirsch founded the vineyard in 1980 to grow fruit and make site-specific wine. From the start all efforts have been on the growing of fruit that makes wines profoundly characteristic of the site vintage after vintage."

“Hirsch is the embodiment of Sonoma Pinot Noir. If you are trying to figure out what Sonoma Pinot Noir is all about, especially from the Sonoma Coast, pick up a bottle of Hirsch. They only play with Pinot and Chard and they like it that way. These wines are crafted from some ridiculously high quality fruit and they are expressive. The tasting room is small and sparsely adorned because they believe the juice is the star of the show. This is a tasting appointment for the palate, not the Gram.”

• Located just under 1 mile from Healdsburg Plaza.
• Across the street from popular Russian River beach.
• Not a tasting appointment for “The Gram.”
• This is an outstanding “wine geek” appointment.
• Very highly regarded wines coming from this place.
• Very small tasting room and small patio.
No bells, no whistles, just quality juice.
