“Some days you just gotta pull into a driveway and say hello. Amador is a close knit community and pulling into this driveway helped me connect some pieces. Paul J is the private label for Paul Sobon, the winemaker for the historic Sobon brand. They also own Shenandoah Vineyards. When I visited Paul’s daughter was running Paul J, her best friend poured for me. I think Paul’s son makes the wine at Shenandoah and is developing his skills to eventually take over the winemaking for the brands. Amador is a tight-knit community. What they all have in common is a dedication to just being nice folks that want to pour the wine they made. No pretense, no fuss. Just come hang out.”
