M2 2013 Viognier
Silky pear notes followed by citrus and honeysuckle. Smells like an spring, afternoon snack. Tart pear acidity drives the palate. It’s not a big wine but definitely not tame. Finishes slightly creamy.
Not my style of white but quoting Layne Montgomery, the winemaker at M2, “That’s ok we got plenty more.” Layne’s down to earth style definitely ushers candid conversations. He finds the snooty wine world a bit peculiar. Making good wines is important and so is finding wines that fit people’s palates.
