Winemake Notes: “Wines from REX HILL’s unique Jacob-Hart Vineyard offer great complexity derived from vines farmed to impeccable Biodynamic standards on every soil type found in the Willamette Valley. The beautiful darkly colored 2010 REX HILL Jacob-Hart Pinot Noir has primary aromatics of sweet black cherries, raspberries, blueberries, violets and toasty oak which open to more complex notes of pipe tobacco, earth, truffles and cassis. On the palate, the attack is succulent and powerful, classic Jacob-Hart, with focused red fruit flavors, dark notes and a penetrating tannic structure and firm acidity. The purity of the wine continues through the mid-palate and into the strong finish. This is a balanced, intense Pinot Noir from a late-ripening vintage of extremely low yields and will reward patient cellaring by growing more complex and integrated over the next 20 years and beyond.”
