Banshee 2012 Anderson Valley Chardonnay

Sometimes I stumble on the subtleties of white wines.  I hate and enjoy that my palate is still emerging.

This is not that big, buttery “over oaked” Chard made for Bunko parties and red cups.  In fact, it’s quite the opposite.  Lots of small nuances.  I loved the white pepper and a variety of green forest smells in the nose.

If you were sitting with Kim at Banshee Tasting Room in Healdsburg, she might describe this Chard as being “a lot like licking a tree.” Now Kim told me, with an impish grin, not to quote her but that is just too awesome to omit.  Absolutely hilarious and brilliant at the same time. I don’t Kim cruising through the redwoods licking trees but that is what this wine screams.  Moist redwood and ferns with a hint of moss.  Awesome description from an awesome gal.  I hear ya Kim!

Retail: $40.00
(Sorry folks, this one slipped through my database and I got it out late.  It’s already sold out.)
