Copain 2011 Wentzel Pinot Noir
A dull ruby tint deceives the eye while the nose is greeted with bright red cherry. Dig deeper into the bell to find some sandalwood and maybe a hint of mint. A vibrant acid structure makes the fruit dance and puts it center stage. The finish begins with a nice tart snap and then its all about a maddening decrescendo. It will really lull you into thinking its gone but…… yeah, like that. Really good. Big price point but a great bottle to save for a special occasion.

Winemaker Notes: “Enveloped by a wild wilderness, the fruit of this vineyard consistently echoes the woodsy character of the tall pines that surround it. Briary fruit, forest floor and a robust, supple spice dominate the 2011 Wentzel Pinot Noir, which marks an absolutely enchanting vintage and welcome return for one of our most distinct Single Vineyard offerings.“
