DAOU 2011 Celestus Blend
This Syrah and Cab blend is full of dark berry notes. I especially liked the blueberry with hints of sage. Big chalky tannins grab your tongue pretty quickly. Tartness dominates the mid-palate. A simple finish.

Winemaker Notes: “Dark purple tears slowly tint the glass and slide toward the garnet core. The wine’s nose is dominated by ripe blue and black fruit; blackberries lead the way. Also noticed are mid-season lilacs combined with black peppercorns and dark shaved chocolate. The wine’s acidity with chalky tannins provides a balance that is a testament to Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon blends. The fruit base on the palate is a complex array of flavors including pressed blackberries, steeped dark cocoa, vanilla beans and fresh picked violets.“
