Big raspberries, cherry and chocolate mint work well together. Concetta who poured for me at Harney Lane called this little guy the “Crowd Pleaser.” I like that. This Zin pulls a Brad Pitt and morphs for the person drinking. It is multi-faceted and the characteristic that you enjoy the most seems to emerge first. Interesting.

The oaky tannins and acids spread out quickly and act as a stage. A very wide and stable stage. It allows the cast of “players” to do their “thing.” The chocolate mint was my favorite. Don’t look for a crescendo of acidity. In fact just the opposite. The acids just sits their with a lazy wobble. Great dinner wine. Why didn’t I buy a bottle again?

Tasting Notes: “Deep garnet color, with aromas of ripe cherry, chocolate and hints of blackberry jam. Teaming with flavors of wild berries and creamy toasted oak, this wine’s wonderful acidity and fully integrated tannins lead to a rich velvety finish.” • 1268 cases
