Julietta Winery 2012 Zinfandel
A dusty raspberry nose with a few high spices. The palate gets tart in a hurry. A big chalky, tannin blanket gets thrown on your tongue. It doesn’t stay long. It gets whisked away like the table cloth that gets pulled from under the fully set table. Neat trick. Finishes with flavors of tart cherry and the spices fade gently. A big wine fully in control of its size. The structure is simple and well made. I’m thinking this would be a good party wine.
