“Mending Wall is unexpected. It sits peacefully at the base of Howell Mountain on northern end of the Silverado Trail just before the road bends toward Calistoga. Winery density is lower here and it feels more like wine country. This is not for the “woo-crowd” that is enjoying rapid fire tastings. This is a calm experience constructed to heighten your senses. This is a Thomas Rivers Brown project who makes some amazing wines for the likes of Schrader, Revana and Outpost. He is not short on talent and the wine shows. This is a guy that has dozens of 100 point wines. I’m not big on that point system but that is a hell of a track record. Mending Wall was not on my radar and I couldn’t believe I didn’t know about this gem.”
