“Livermore was the 2nd to last major wine region on the west coast that I needed to visit. Wente is the oldest and biggest “dog” in this yard so I thought starting here made the most sense. The tasting room feels like a Spanish Hacienda set in the middle of a golf resort. It’s comfy but not your typical tasting room. Plenty of room for large groups and a large selection of wines. The tasting room patio look out over the “grounds” but you can’t really see the vineyards so you feel like you are in a nice restaurant rather than a winery. A relaxed and laid back tasting without pretense.”
