Wren Hop

"Wren Hop began in 2008 after James McDonough and his father created a single barrel, unreleased, Pinot Noir “experiment” from their Russian River Valley site. The result was a silky, deeply-layered, black cherry behemoth, studded with spice and fine-grained tannins. Many pulled corks later and in true start-up fashion, Wren Hop Vineyards was born. Passion mixed with a dose of fruit-forward adrenaline. Kaboom."

“Another fantastic recommendation brought me to Wren Hop and I’m so happy I put it on the dance card. The drive will take you behind Sonoma’s adorable little aiport and up the hill. Like so many spots in wine country, there is a surprise around each bend. Once you reach the top of the hill, there is a circular driveway and as you complete the circle, you are greeted with a view that will drop your socks. It’s stupendous. Be prepared to be greeted with a chilled and legit rosé and maybe a dog’s butt wiggle as you exit the car. A structured and fruit forward style of Pinot Noir. This as a true pleasant surprise.”
