Three Wine Co 2011 Live Oak Zinfandel
Currant and blueberry with a hint of mint. It’s a bit wild and attractive. The characteristics of this wine all jump to say hello at once. The acid structure and tannins are bold so bring a chair while your palate recovers. The finish is slightly sour which helps wet the palate. It’s an adventure in a glass. I am betting that this gets dreamy if you store it for 7 years. Give all the players to rehearse a bit longer would make the ensemble glow.

(K&S Rating: 4 of 6)
Winemaker Notes: “The wine is dark black and blue color to the edge, with boysenberry, violets, supple tannins and perfect acidity. The wine shows staggering ancient vine concentration with a briary density and silken chewiness with a velour-like texture which is classic Live Oak.“
