Villa San-Juliette 2010 Reserve Grenache

A wonderful nose on this one.  Wonderful indeed!  Great diversity.  You will dig in three times and debate what you thought you smelled.  I think they are all there. Just good aromatics.

I got plum, currant and rose petals. Feels big on the palate.  Acid structure is lively but fun.  It won’t knock you out.  It’s an adventure in your mouth. Velvety tannins will make the mid to finish an interesting ride.

Reail: $32

Winemaker Notes: “This wine explodes with rhubarb, raspberry, cigar box, cinnamon and thyme, all well balanced with hints of earthiness and caramel.  The heartiness of the VSJ Reserve Grenache lends itself to producing a big-shouldered wine, capable of getting along well by itself or in blends. In short, this grape plays well with others.  It’s a perfect grilling wine, especially with wood-fired pizza.”
