VML 2012 Pinot Noir
Shut the front door! Nice little cola notes jumping out … Add to that some neat raspberry and cherry notes plus some cool minerality and that’s what jumped out at me. Great nose on this little guy. Acid driven so it will feel dry but if you are a well oiled Pinot hound, your palate won’t mind. Not recommended for our “wine snobs” rocking training wheels. Nice smooth tannin structure.

Winemaker Notes: “Complex aromas of licorice, rosewater, jasmine tea, rhubarb pie, savory mushrooms, and sassafras entice the nose. Candied strawberry, cherry-cola and vanilla bean are complimented by a brilliant acidity and a juicy lingering finish. This wine is barrel aged for 9 months in French oak; 40% new, 30% once used and 30% neutral barrel. Fruit comes from the heart of the Green Valley and our Floodgate property a few miles southeast of the winery.”
