LangeTwins 2011 Petite Sirah/Petit Verdot
I think there is a blueberry farm next to the LangeTwins winery because it is a common note in their wines and this blend is no exception. Sweet blueberries abound in this ready to drink goody. When its warm out, I am a big fan of the “petits.” This wine fits the bill for summer 2013 and at $16 is at a great price point. This delight offers moderate tannins and a quick finish. I am enjoying a bottle on my patio on a warm July night listening to the crickets and my waterfalls gurgling. Nice end to the day for sure.

Winemaker Notes: “Rich and inviting with an intense inky-dark purple color, our 2011 Petite Sirah (79%) Petit Verdot (21%) is as vibrant in color as aroma and flavor. Juicy blackberry and bold blueberry notes are revealed in approachable layers and the concentrated wine finishes with a welcoming freshness. A true fruit forward wine!”
