Andis 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

2013.andis.sauvblancAndis 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

A delightfully passive grapefruit and peach that will tempt you to dig deeper and get your nose wet. When you do, you might find nectarine or peach.  A Song of the Sirens.  You won’t be able to resist digging back in for more goodness. If it’s ice cold, you may just dive in like the adrift sailors of legend.

Sits almost non-existent on your palate for what seems like an eternity.  I found myself waiting for something to happen.  Like a mirage unveiling its shady palms, the sweet fruit notes emerge around the tongue.  Just as they crescendo, they begin to fade slowly.  Just when you think its gone, a little tart, “somethin somethin” give you a tickle before it ends.  Not big or complex.  Subtle and simple with a hint of mystery at a great price point for the quality. Great white for wine snobs with training wheels.

Winemaker Notes: “One of my favorite times of the year is just after harvest when the white wines are done fermenting and still in the tanks. They’re chilled to the low 40’s to keep them fresh and stable, and fill the cellar with beautiful aromas. It’s a treat sharing these delicious new wines straight from the tanks with visitors and seeing the earliest results of harvest bring smiles to their faces! The 2013 vintage brought another lively, zesty Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful aromas of pear, white peach, melon and green grapes. Nicely balanced with a surprisingly fresh floral character, the wine is delicious on its own or with light pastas, cheeses and salads.” • 940 cases
