Borra Vineyards 2011 Red Fusion Blend
The winemaker paired this with white chocolate and honey… Just sayin…
This little rascal smells delicious. A Syrah, Petitie Sirah, Zin and Alicante Bouscet blend and it does beg for a chocolate pairing. What a great nose! You may forget to take a sip cause you will keep digging your nose back in the glass.
It smells like mix of red fruit or bashful raspberries dancing with dark chocolate. Smells bigger than it is. A delight on the palate. Once in your mouth, it will settle in for a long and easy finish. Good times. I had to bring one home!

Winemaker Notes: “Our favorite crowd-pleaser is a delicious, complex fusion of Lodi’s best winegrape varietals. The very cool 2011 vintage brought out a rich and creamy Haagen-Dazs strawberry flavor that nicely enhances the cherries we normally taste in this full-bodied and balanced blend. You’ll notice smooth, almost chalky tannins on the roof of your mouth moving to a lingering tartness, as if from a yoghurt, that combines with cola for a long finish. Take a whiff and deep notes of cherry, cloves, dark chocolate and forest floor will echo most of the flavors. If you’re adventurous, you’ll try a roasted duck drizzled with a beef-cherry reduction sauce, or go for an easy smoked ham.”
