Fields Family 2009 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
“Foresty.” Full of cedar and black cheery. It grows organically the more you smell. Hello Big Napa Cab and right here in the heart of Lodi. Go figure. Wine tasting is always an adventure.
Starts easy. Effortless. The tannins reach and stretch as if woken up from a long slumber. They spread like the limbs that shade the forest. The oak notes are warm and cozy. A fireplace wine. Not your typical Lodi find. Price point is tough for me but definitely delightful juice. Great special event wine.

Winemaker Notes: “The 2009 Fields Family Wines Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our own dedicated blocks high up on Mt. Veeder within Dr. Konrad’s Vineyard. It is a gorgeous, concentrated wine with intense and complex aromatics. Full bodied with a pure texture and stunning concentration. An elegant and well integrated backbone of tannins, acid and minerality, the hallmark of Mt. Veeder, should carry this wine for years to come.”
