Harney Lane 2011 Lizzy James Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel
Sweet raspberries, oak and a bit of fig waft into your nose. It’s a pleasing nose. As soon as it hits your palate, its in a hurry. Runs right over your tongue to your rear palate and sets up shop. It’s an acidic fireworks show just not as bright and without arching your neck for an hour. Coats the back of your mouth with excitement. Then it gets big and lazy like a St. Bernard lap dog that can’t get enough of your on a rainy winter afternoon. This is a cold weather bottle. Grab a book, keep the bottle nearby and enjoy your lazy afternoon.

Tasting Notes: “Sourced from Lizzy James Vineyard, planted in 1904, this zinfandel is our pride and joy. Beautifully balanced, this concentrated Old Vine Zinfandel offers notes of raspberry jam, anise and fig compote. A structured wine with deep, sweet flavors of currants, nutmeg and warm cinnamon. Full bodied with a lush texture, an elegant wine from a cooler vintage.” • 443 cases
