Lucas & Lewellen 2010 Syrah
Really fruity in the nose combined with some warm oak notes. Understated like walking past a strawberry vendor at a farmers market. Not an exciting wine as it hits your palate like you might expect with its fruit forward personality. It actually gets really mellow on your tongue. She was playing coy. The tannins are silky, wet and calm. Fantastic structure and offers you a well planned adventure. Yes sir … I’m taking one of these home with me.

Winemaker Notes: “This Syrah was produced from several clones of the Syrah variety harvested from our cool climate Los Alamos vineyards. We have created a rich, full bodied wine made in a round, jammy, fruity style. After traditional punch downs to mix the cap and juice it spent 24 months in French Oak. The result is this refined, bold Syrah that is dark and rich with warm earth, spice and leather tones, and black stone fruit on the palate.” (428 cases)
