Valley of the Moon 2010 Barbera
There be big aromatics in there! Sweet, over ripe cherries jump from the glass. Wow… hello! Maybe some plum and cocoa making the nose nice and round. It definitely has depth.
The palate starts with a little spice and a bit of oak. The cherries can’t help but continue with some sweet red fruit underneath. Finish long and gentle like wading in the shallows on a winter beach. Goes on forever but rarely gets more than your ankles wet. Just when you think its gone, the spices say hello again. Who doesn’t love an adventure in a bottle?

Winemaker Notes: “An authentic tribute to our Italian roots, this opulent, estate-grown and bottled Barbera exhibits aromas of candied cherries and chocolate with a hint of currants and black licorice. It’s bright fruit character is bolstered by pleasing flavors of black cherry, vanilla and spice and rounded out with hints of leather and tobacco. Soft caramel oak and silky tannins lend to its long, lingering finish.”
