Amador Cellars 2011 Rapscallion

Blueberries, strawberries and a little pepper. Smells sweet with a wild side. There is actually a lot more going on in there. You would have to be a serious professional to sort it all out. It’s a complex nose. Not terribly big on the palate but has an edgy acid structure. Pepper is a fun ride throughout. It dissolves on the rear palate to be replaced by a big, ripe, red fruit finish. (Here comes the old Disney reference.) E ticket ride at a B ticket price.

Winemaker Notes: “The Rapscallion is back! A fun and delicious blend of 88% Zinfandel, 8% Touriga and 4% Barbera. Great for parties, BBQ’s, picnics, camping and more. Light to medium bodied yet complex with medium acidity, rich strawberry and delicate floral aromas. This is bottled in standard 750ml burgundy bottle but is also available in the VERY popular, 1L Italian Jug; however the jug is only available at the tasting room because of it’s difficulty to ship.”
