Amador Cellars 2010 Rocky Point Zinfandel
Very similar on the nose to the 2010 Zin but then again, it isn’t. The jumbled berry goodness is there but its not as spicy. This is from Rocky Point and even the name feels bigger.
A big jammy rascal that tingles the front of your tongue with big berry sweetness. The sweet tone masks the tannins. Ninja style! They sneak up on you. You are watching the sweet and they hijack your entire tongue. A default long finish. Looking for a frisky party wine, I think I’ve found your bottle. Also a good choice for the wine newbie looking for a “Go Big or Go Home” wine.
Reail: $28
(K&S Rating: 3 of 6)
Winemaker Notes: “The much lauded Estate grown RPV full of brambley character. Complex and concentrated with flavors of dark berries, black pepper, and sweet tobacco. Rich lush color and mouthfeel with rounded tannins. Aged for 20 months in American Oak contributing hints of spice, graham cracker and vanilla.”
