LangeTwins 2011 Petite Sirah/Petit Verdot

This is an interesting blend.  These two wines are rarely allowed to take center stage.  They are usually the back up singers.  They supply the softer side and often additional character of the bigger and bolder varietals.  These back up singers hit the high note.

Awesome ruby color.  Take the time to look at this guy in the light.  Sweet blueberry jam jumps out until the Petit Verdot arrives at the party.  Raspberries show up mid-palate and then the dance begins.  Great blend, nice structure, slightly acidic with a wonderful finish.

Winemaker Notes: “Rich and inviting with an intense inky-dark purple color, our 2011 Petite Sirah (79%) Petit Verdot (21%) is as vibrant in color as aroma and flavor. Juicy blackberry and bold blueberry notes are revealed in approachable layers and the concentrated wine finishes with a welcoming freshness. A true fruit forward wine!”
